Section 31 of the Mediation Act, 2023 authorises the Central Government to establish the Mediation Council of India by notification. Section 32 addresses its statutory composition.
The Act also describes functions intended for the Council and related regulatory machinery. Those enacted provisions do not, by themselves, establish that the Council, appointments, registers, recognition systems, or every contemplated function are operational.
